Compton
Compton, like the song, “Straight Outta Compton,” is a rough and tumble city where gang activity is a daily problem and violent shootings can happen at any time. In 2013, Compton reported 36 homicides.
So far in 2015, the trend is continuing. In January there was a shooting at a Compton metro station that left a 29-year old man dead. Road rage combined with gang activity in a separate incident may have caused the death of 26-year old Marquise Lawrence in March, when he was struck by gunfire from an SUV while driving his car.
