Lazarus
In the story of Lazarus, followers learn how God is able to commit any feat–even raising someone from the dead. Mary, Martha, and Lazarus were friends of Jesus and are highlighted in this story. When discussed, they are often said to have the most absolute, steadfast faith and love for God.
In this parable, their brother Lazarus dies. Four days later, he is restored by Jesus, making his resurrection one of the many miracles spoken of in the New Testament. This story teaches that God has the power to save, and also that followers are sometimes glorified through suffering.
