Oddly enough, this diet is also known as the lemon detox diet, which is a more difficult diet plan than some of the others. This diet requires that you only consume a detox drink, which includes a mixture of maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and water. These ingredients are meant to activate the metabolism in an effort to help you shed the weight. When on the Maple Syrup Diet, you are only supposed to consume a very meager 60 calories per day, in addition to the nutrients you are getting from the detox drink.
