This marathon starts in Squawk Valley, California, and runs 100 miles in length The 40-year old race features 18,090 feet of incline running, 22,970 feet of descent, and rugged canyons, and deep rivers. Although difficult for running, this race also includes a number of breathtaking views

The ever popular belt buckle for winning the race is what draws racers in. If you complete the race in less than 30 hours you earn a bronze buckle. Racers who complete the race in less than 24 hours receive a silver buckle.
