The Tower of Babel
Noah’s descendants decided to build a tower that extended to the heavens. God was not a fan of this plan, because it was based on arrogance and pride. God came down and made the people to speak many languages rather than just one, so they could not communicate.
After confusing them with different languages God spread the people throughout the land. Many people believe this is why we have many languages in today’s world and that each area speaks its own, but cannot understand others.
