Easily one of the number one RPGs of all time, Baldur’s Gate is based on the table strategy game of Dungeons and Dragons. It was games like D&D that inspired the RPG genre, and Baldur’s Gate stays true to its source material. In fact, for many, it was the first hop they made from real-time tabletop gaming to video games.
Achieving a 91 on Metacritic, the game remains a steadfast favorite for die-hard RPG gamers. The game was developed by BioWare, a company that has gone on to achieve lasting success. Its noteworthiness is usually accredited to the amazing level of immersion, despite the fact that it’s a 2D game.
