Fable
When Fable was released in 2004, it was unique in part because characters aged throughout the game. Not only that, but depending on whether the player chooses a villainous character or a hero, other characters interact with the player’s character differently. Both evil and good play styles have their own merits.
The game–and all subsequent titles–progresses by presenting you with a variety of choices. Each choice is balanced to provide certain rewards and certain penalties. Ultimately, it’s up to the gamer to decide which of the decisions reap the more beneficial rewards. Fable was also talked about because of its difficult ending–one in which something is always sacrificed, no matter what you choose.
