Source of Light
Light can be created in a number of ways and is often a metaphor for happiness or joy (as in the light of my life) or even vitality, or enlightenment. Many scholars believe that errors in the Bible can be attributed to the confusion between metaphorical and literal references and the source of light may be one such area.
In Genesis, it is stated that there was a source of light on the first day of creation. When taken literally, this is an impossibility, as nothing was available on the first day of creation that could actually produce a source of light. The stars and sun were not created until the fourth day, according to the Bible, so a source of light would not be present for at least three more days.
