As a contestant, Chris Daughtry was a combination of family man and bad boy and also quickly became a favorite among viewers. Although he finished fourth and did not win the competition, he was offered a recording contract with RCA Records almost immediately afterward.
Since American Idol, Daughtry has done quite well for himself, and his self-named band has come along for the ride with him. He has released four albums since being on the show, and the band has sold a total of 7.06 million copies of these records over the years. With their debut album, the band also received four nominations for the Grammy award, although they did not win any of their nominations.
