Clay Aiken
Sometimes a contestant’s appearance on American leads to other ambitions, such as acting and politics. Clay Aiken quickly became a favorite on the show through his determination and his singing abilities, which later lead to pursuing a career in politics.
With a total of 5.073 million albums, Aiken is one of the top sellers among American Idol alum. He was the runner up in season two to another favorite, Ruben Studdard, and throughout his musical career released a total of six albums to date. Although he has not been involved in the musical scene for years, he has taken his chance on politics and had two failed attempts at running for the House of Representatives, yet remains a favorite to this day.
