Nauset Beach
During the summer of 2012, Walter Szulc Jr. kayaked in what appeared to be a calm ocean, when he turned to find the fin of a shark approaching him at this beach in Massachusetts. There were hundreds of people on the beach at the time, who saw the 12 to 15 foot shark and warned Szulc.
It shouldn’t have been all that surprising, as shark sightings had been reported a few days prior to Szulc’s encounter. This is one of the encounters caught on video. Although no injuries were reported, the waterways were cleared out for a few days following the incident. The water contains a large infestation of gray seals, making it a prime area for sharks to frequent.
