Genocide of Residents in Canaan
In Deuteronomy 7:1-2 and Joshua 6:21, the passages detail mass genocide by the Israelites, which was done under God’s instruction. Perizzites, Hivites, and other groups were murdered upon entering and pillaging the land.
The invasion of Canaan in and of itself would be considered a mass military act. But, ordering the Israelite people to kill seven nations in a widespread act, goes a bit further than mass genocide in most third world countries today.
