Fidel Castro
Political events are generally considered very serious in nature and we usually expect things to run smoothly without any major accidents, blunders, or catastrophes. In fact with the security and planning required for these events, there should be fewer chances of embarrassing incidences.
But even political diplomats get hurt every once in a while. In a 2004 graduation ceremony, Fidel Castro, President of Cuba, took a major spill, fracturing his arm when he made his way down. Although he did not break his arm or hip, as was initially thought to be the case, he did have a few bruises, and was severely injured, namely due to the fact that his older age was beginning to catch up with him at the time.
