Lot’s Wife, Genesis 19
One of the most famous women of the Old Testament is unnamed. Simply known as Lot’s wife, she has become a warning and a lesson for many. Today Lot’s wife is looked upon as a monument of an unbelieving soul because of her actions and the resulting punishment of God.
Lot and his family had been visited by angels and told that they must flee their evil city, which is set to be destroyed. The one thing that the angels insist is that as they leave the area no one may look back. While walking away, Lot’s wife, who did not want to leave the luxury and pleasure in the sinful city, looks back and is turned into a pillar of salt.
