With river boat casinos, the party city of New Orleans, and many college and family towns, the state of Louisiana is a prime destination for many vacationers and families. While in the state of Louisiana, you will not be burdened by gas prices due to the decrease in the oil per barrel price.
As an oilfield state itself, gas prices in select areas are below $2, while other states still have $3 gas per gallon prices. In key cities such as Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans, gas prices are well under the national average. A trip to Louisiana will not be cost prohibitive to vacationers who prefer to drive.
