The Big Bang Theory
This sitcom first premiered on CBS in 2007 and has gained a following through the years of over 20 million viewers. The Big Bang Theory made CBS the first network to have two series’ reach an audience of that size, the other series being NCIS. Of the top shows with the most viewers, season six placed third in ratings and viewers, being beat out only by NCIS and NBC Sunday Night Football.
The show’s popularity is not only attributed to its humor but for its combination of nerds, a sexy neighbor, and fun science – all in one television show. Although the Big Bang Theory has been on air for eight seasons now, the characters are still some of the most favorite on air. The show was signed on for an additional two years by CBS, and it does not show signs of dying down any time soon. It is still one of the most highly viewed shows on Thursday night, and is still the top comedy on TV.
