Animals and many other species have evolved through the years and may not be in the same form that was known to those who write the Bible thousands of years ago. Data and information regarding different species was also not available, so it is understandable that there are errors regarding animals.
Genesis makes the claim that all animals in the species are herbivores. We know this to be false. It is depicted in the Bible that all animals started out as herbivores, and none were omnivorous or carnivorous. We have learned through science, however, just the opposite. There is proof that omnivores and carnivores have always existed on our planet, which makes this another scientific mistake found in the Bible.
