Top 10 Mistakes in the Bible

Food Safety

There are many actions in the Bible that are now considered unhealthy, unsafe, and obsolete. One example, is the assumption that every plant created can be consumed, even though the apple that Eve bit into and shared with Adam, basically doomed humanity. Yet, today, an apple a day is recommended.

Is there a safety concern in Genesis about whether or not plants can be eaten? In the Bible, God provided every plant for humans to consume. However, anyone can quickly tell you, that not every single plant on this Earth can safely be consumed by humans, or any species for that matter. There are a series of poisonous plants which are known to be able to kill us. Alternatively, other types of food such as shellfish and pork are not supposed to be eaten, but are now considered part of many healthy diets. Unless all plants were initially safe and somehow turned dangerous or became available later, this is another inconsistency in the Bible.
