This beach in Los Angeles County is also known for being one of the dirtiest and highly polluted. In fact, three of the most polluted beaches in California are located in Los Angeles County.
Like many of the beaches on the list, the water at Santa Monica Municipal Pier is the problem. The pier’s water is reportedly brown in color due to its high levels of pollution. Visitors tend to shy away from swimming in its waters due to its hazardous and unpleasant nature.
