Glen Folklord an Australian surfer, had a less friendly encounter than many of the more fortunate individuals on our list. In a 2012 encounter, while surfing on Redhead Beach, Folklord was attacked by a 10-foot bull shark that lunged at his surfboard. Bull sharks are known to be highly aggressive toward humans.
This encounter resulted in Folklord being knocked underwater and dragged below the surface. Although he did eventually make it back to shore safely, it wasn’t without a giant area of scar tissue being ripped off of his leg by the powerful jaws of the shark. He lost nearly four pounds of flesh in the attack and spent several days in intensive care, nearly bleeding to death.
