Social Security Number

Your social security number indicates who you are to the government. One number being off or out of place totally changes your identity, so this is a big one to look for and ensure its accuracy.

Your date of birth is also important – possibly as important as your social security number in identifying who you are. Make sure, for example, there is a 09 for September rather than just the number 9. Even this little error can cause confusion and possibly lead to the reporting agencies mistaking your identity with another person’s.
