Carl Schurz Park/Bobby Wagner Walk

Carl Schurz Park at 84th Street entrance is where you can take the Bobby Wagner Walk. Run or walk along the East River to 125th Street. You will see Carl Schurz Park and Jefferson Park on the way. The views of the Roosevelt Island and lighthouse are amazing. You don’t want to miss them even if your goal isn’t to take in the views, but to get some exercise. There’s nothing wrong with stimulating the mind at the same time as you stimulate your body.

Along the western shore of Randall’s Island is the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge and the Willis Avenue Bridge. There is also a fitness path in Carl Schurz Park that is a mile each five laps. You can also see the outside of the Gracie Mansion, the official residence of the Mayor of New York City. It is not open for inside tours but you can catch a glimpse of the gorgeous exterior while you run or stroll.
