Newfoundlands are known for their large presence and beautiful long-haired coats. The demeanor of this breed is exceptionally calm and quiet, so they make wonderful family dogs. They are known to be very well-behaved, and are cordial and welcoming to almost everyone that they come across.
As long as Newfoundlands receive adequate physical activity, they are perfect around children. Their relaxed manner makes them great for expectant families, or those who already have small children. According to pet experts, Newfoundlands love to have a purpose such as carrying backpacks, or pulling carts.
