Murder for Looking the Wrong Way
In Genesis 19: 12-26, it is believed that the men in certain cities wanted to engage in homosexual acts. These are of course illegal according to the Bible. In turn, men, women, and children who lived in the cities of Gomorrah and Sodom were murdered because of this desire.
Another interpretation of the passage is that God murdered the people of these towns because they were uncharitable to strangers. It wasn’t a homosexual act, but rather one to humiliate the Angels who appeared. Either way, it seems rather harsh to murder thousands of people, simply because of homosexual desires or because they weren’t kind. It even seems illegal, yet in biblical times it wasn’t the case, and it occurred often.
