Kingdom Hearts
Heavily influenced by the Final Fantasy franchise, Kingdom Hearts is a Disney-owned RPG. While not solely RPG, since it has an action component, it contains a great deal of character development. In true Disney style, it features the development of strong friendships.
Ideal for young and old alike, characters from multiple fantasy universes come together to save the world. It has been noted for the fact that it seems to blend Final Fantasy’s strategy with a much looser, more relaxing gaming style. Certainly, it was one of the first to play with mixing genres in a way that succeeded. While it does have some flaws–for example, the fact that it’s far too difficult for the age group it’s marketed to–it also has a cult following. For the most die-hard gamers, beating Kingdom Hearts is just something that should be considered an absolute must.
