The Winchester Mystery House
The legendary Mrs. Winchester had nightly séances asking the spirits to guide her in drawing up building plans that would protect her from bad spirits. She believed it would offer her protection from evil. The result is that the home has an amazing layout with miles of hallways, switchback stairs, and hidden passages.
Over the years, a caretaker and guests have reported many interesting occurrences in the Winchester Mystery House. Paranormal investigators have visited and experienced temporary blindness, icy cold areas, and turning doorknobs. None of these happenings have ever been attributed to a scientifically-explainable case.
