The Lemp Mansion

The elegant Lemp mansion has been a part of St. Louis since the 1830s. While beautiful, the origins of the house are somewhat spooky in nature. It’s said that the Lemp family who built and resided in the mansion seemed to be plagued by death–mostly at their own hands. Four suicides occurred in various generations of the Lemp family. Three of these suicides took place inside the mansion. Since that time, strange noises and shadows have been seen in the house.

While it’s probably more likely that the Lemps had intractable depression or undiagnosed mental health concerns, paranormal researchers have been able to grab video and audio evidence. Today, it has been revamped into a restaurant and inn that attracts people from all over the country. Many of those visitors also claim to have experienced paranormal events.
