For a more intimate date that’s free of the usual clubbing or foodie indulgences, consider hitting up the historic Verdi Club for Porchlight. Considered the longest-running storytelling event in all of California, it’s a rare gem of a setting and a wonderful way to broaden your horizons. It’s all about connecting with the very same people living and working around you every day.
Every month, the owners bring in six new people to get on stage and deliver 10-minute true stories. You’ll hear stories from a diverse group of California’s citizens–everyone from local bus drivers to doctors who save lives every single day. It’s humble, enlightening, and fun.
