Like many cities in Florida, Ocala has its charm. However, this city is also one of the cities in Florida which has the most violent crime. It is not included on the top 100 cities with the most violent crime in the nation, but still ranks as one of the highest in Florida.
Ocala has a Crime Index of 6%, with six reported murders annually. The fact that Ocala’s violent crime percentage stands at 73%, is a huge indicator that shootings are a high probability. Overall crime is almost 30% higher than the nation’s average. Not only are shootings a huge risk, but Ocala tourists have reported a high number of sex offenders registered in the area.
