Neighborhood Scout gives the city a Crime Index (CI) of 0%. lowest rating available, which indicates that 100% of cities in the U.S. are safer than Miami Beach. 10.16 violent crimes happen for every 1,000 residents compared to 3.76 per every 1,000 in the entire U.S.
Individuals who frequent the area have a 1 in 98 chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime. Plus, Miami Beach has had its share of gun violence, with four murders and 489 assaults annually. Even though Miami Beach ranks as one of the richest areas in Florida, it still has a high prevalence of poverty and crime.
