Titanic
For a romantic, historical movie, the Titanic gained extreme popularity. So much so that you probably won’t meet very many people who haven’t seen it or at least are not a little familiar with the many scenes between Leonardio DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. This 1997 film became a favorite movie for many people then and continues to be one of the favorites through the years.
Yes, it was a bit overdone, and the absurd budget on this film is something we don’t see in films, even today. But, it was also heart warming and depicted the story of the Titanic’s survivors, as well as those who died. The film did a good job in depicting the ship realistically, in as close to the dimensions as possible for the big screen. It is a film you’ve probably seen more than once, and one we watch every time it is on TV.
