Go to Court
Because bankruptcy proceedings are open to the public, you can actually go to court to get an understanding of the process and how the system works. This also gives you an idea of the types of attorneys who can help you through your own proceedings.
If possible, sit through a few cases, and see what the judge asks. Not only will it allow you to provide information a lawyer will need, it will give you further information and understanding of what you can expect when it is your turn to go to court.
