Because cats rule, dogs drool…
Everyone has their preference of pet. Some people like dogs; some cats. Some people even prefer exotic animals such as boa constrictors or animals you wouldn’t normally think of voluntarily caring for and sharing your home with – like rats. In the world of the most common furry friends, however, cats rate among the most popular.
Although it’s often said that, “No one owns a cat,” the practice of choosing cats as roommates goes back as far as 12,000 years ago. A study published by the research journal, Science, found that cats descended from and were first domesticated in the Middle Eastern area of the world way before the the remains uncovered on the island of Cyprus, which indicated a history of just 8,000 years ago.
The great debate as to why cats are better than dogs or dogs are better than cats, is one which has gone on for decades and will likely continue. Many cat lovers would never dream of trading their furry friends for a dog, and the same goes for dog owners. For those who do own cats, there are many reasons you love your pets, and these are a few reasons it is believed that cats make better pets than dogs.
