The rural setting implies a lower presence of security enforcement. Many people especially the youth take advantage of this to rob others and commit other crimes. In addition, the average income in rural areas is usually very low making it hard for some families to afford the basic needs.
The crime rates in the above New York cities are quite high. It is however important to note that most of them are taking proactive and prominent steps to decrease their respective crime rates. They have initiated necessary programs eradicate violence and crime that need encouragement and help to achieve the set goals.
