Desert Hot Springs

Also known as DHS, Desert Hot Springs is located in Riverside County and is more of an affluent area. This may seem unexpected on a list of most dangerous cities; however, it isn’t always the poorer communities or lower income cities that are the most dangerous.

The total population of the city is just over 25,000. As of November 2013, the presence of a city police force is in danger of being shut down as the city confronts budget cuts. Desert Hot Springs is considering contracting with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to provide the city with officers on watch. The violent crime rate for the area is around 14.78.
