Emeryville
Emeryville is located just north of Oakland and is relatively small with only 10,000 inhabitants. Emeryville was named to honor Joseph Stickney Emery, the town’s founder. Emeryville prospered as an industrial city in its early years. The city is also home to Jamba Juice headquarters and the Pixar Animation Studios. It has a violent crime rate of 12.54.
In 2010, 128 violent crimes and an astonishing 981 property crimes were committed. Both of these numbers are high, especially for a city with a population as small as Emeryville’s. it is a city which you should be wary of visiting or frequenting, especially if you aren’t familiar with the area.
