Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz is a very unique beach town that sees lots of tourists coming to visit the pier and other attractions. Not only does the city have great attractions, it also has a higher crime rate than most cities in California. With a population of fewer than 60,000 people, it has a total reported crime rate of 9.7 per 1,000 residents.
This city isn’t the most dangerous in California, but there exists enough violent crime to qualify as one of the most dangerous. There were over 550 incidences of violent crime and almost 3,000 property crime in one year. While these numbers may not seem outlandish, they are especially high for a city of its size.
