Niagara Falls
Latest reports from the FBI shows that 3,391 crimes involving shootings were committed in Niagara Falls in 2014 – the highest rate for any of the New York’s urban centers. The city’s 2014 crime rate stood at 71.13 per 1,000 residents. This means that your chance of becoming a crime victim in the city is one in 14.
Despite its rich history, Niagara Falls has also established a worldwide reputation as one of the most crime-ridden cities in the United States. For years, the city has struggled with drugs and gun violence. However, the city is currently taking proactive steps, such as implementation of SNUG program, to help decrease this rate.
