Celebrity Rehab: An Emotional Meltdown by Jeff Conaway
Jeff Conaway’s long-standing issues with drugs led him to the Celebrity Rehab series. Combined with serious chronic pain issues, Conaway was a difficult patient to treat all along. Crippled, in pain, and suffering from extreme delirium tremens, he returned to the rehab after being hospitalized for a seizure only to have an extreme breakdown.
As Dr. Drew held his hands and guided him through, he broke down and admitted to having suicidal thoughts. While Conaway seemed to make a bit of progress, he again succumbed to his opiate issues after leaving. In too much pain and feeling like he had no options, he aspirated while self-medicating and died in 2011.
