KOA has great campgrounds around the U.S., and this is another one to visit, specifically in New York. In addition to the hiking, fishing, water skiing, and other regular outdoor camping activities, the grounds are also home to the Herkimer Diamond Mine Museum, which visitors often marvel at during their stay.
You can even give diamond mining a try at the Herkimer Diamond Mines, if you are willing to go below ground, and see what there is down there for you to mine out. The quartz crystals are stones that were faceted half a billion years ago. The campground provides themed cottages and lodges and activities such as canoeing, tubing, and kayaking.
