The terrain is particularly rocky, and hikers need to be advanced scramblers in order to complete the entire trek at ease. Scrambling is a term that pertains to a hiking method involving climbing rocky landscapes.

Aonach Eagach is known for its steep, grassy slopes, as well as its high presence of various cliffs. The total elevation level is 3,127 feet, so it is definitely a high climb. If you attempt the trail in winter, you also need to make sure you have the proper equipment and skill for winter hill walking.
