Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea

The Kokoda Track, located in Papua New Guinea, spans over 59 miles long, and it can take up to 6 to 10 days to complete the entire trail. Walkopedia.com reports that most hikers have to train for up to six months before even attempting this hike. When novice hikers try trails such as these too soon, it can often result in dangerous consequences.

This track’s difficulty is not only intense due to its extensive nature, but it is also an extremely elevated trail. On this trail, you encounter many different types of terrain and may end up in valleys, jungles, and crossing rivers. The highest point of the track is also over 7,000 feet high.
