Alaska is a great state, especially for those who cherish spending time outdoors. Sure it’s dusk for half of the year and it’s darn cold, but when it comes to state income tax, Alaska is the place to be.
There is no state income tax or sales tax in Alaska, which retirees and working people alike enjoy. There are also no taxes on pensions or social security income, making Alaska a very affordable and low tax state to live in for everyone, especially retirees.
