Donner Lake
In Nevada County, near I-80, this lake is located about 100 miles outside of Sacramento. The trail museum, monument buildings, Memorial State park, and other stops, are all located on the premises. The monuments built to commemorate those who emigrated to the land in the mid-1800s, is a nice way to celebrate history and see the difficult trails they had to cross along the way on their journey.
