Hunter, “Bambi”
One of the worst villains in a movie never even appeared on the theater screen. The hearts of children everywhere break when Bambi’s mother is shot by an off-screen hunter and dies.
This event propels the other events in the film, but for many viewers it is a shocking moment perpetrated by a faceless, shapeless hunter that is never seen. The legendary Paul McCartney was so affected by that scene that he traces his interest in animal rights to watching that scene unfold.
