Top 10 Dirtiest Beaches in California

Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica

Earlier, in the mid-2000s, the Santa Monica Pier appeared regularly on the lists of the most polluted beaches in California. Although there has been considerable work through the years in improving the beach’s quality, it is still considered extremely dirty.

The beach surrounding Santa Monica Pier used to remind visitors of a classic Coney Island, but nowadays it seems rundown and obsolete. Though the rides seem to be outdated, it’s usually crowded with loiterers. Reviewers report less-than-pristine water and dirty establishments that need further updating. It’s best to visit a different park if you’re looking for a safe and sound family outing.
