Ketogenic Diet
This diet includes a high-fat, moderate-protein, and low-carbohydrate curriculum. It was primarily founded 90 years ago, in order to help reduce the seizure risks in children diagnosed with epilepsy. The plan is said to increase levels of ketones, which are components that are constructed when the body transfers fat into energy. This process leads to ketosis, which is said to help reduce the amount of seizures that many patients face.
Dieters are encouraged to track their intake daily, and are also encouraged to avoid all processed foods. This even includes manufactured products that are labeled as “low-carb”. Not only does it help epileptic patients, but it also helps improve diabetes, reduces cancer risks, and results in weight loss if necessary.
