SAT vs ACT vs New SAT

Caveat 4: SAT Subject Tests (also known as “SAT II”)

SAT “Subject” Tests are NOT the SAT college entrance exam and are not required at part of the college application process.

SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure students’ knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, and their ability to apply that knowledge. They are closely linked to the high school. Students should check with each school they are planning to apply to and verify how each school treats SAT II subject matter exams—it might not be of any benefit to you if the college or university won’t give you any credit for it.

Also, the SAT II Subject Tests are NOT AP test and you do NOT receive college credit for passing these exams.
