Rumors started circulating in June of 2013 that Miley and Justin were dating. However, Cyrus shot down these false claims, stating that she was happily engaged to Liam Hemsworth at the time. It was impossible for Miley to have been dating Justin at the same time that she was so devoted to Liam. Sources have also stated that Miley and Selena are good friends, so the rumors lacked any solid substance. Insiders have claimed that Miley would never do something so mean to her good friend, Selena, which made fans lean toward believing that the claims were untrue.
