Call Your Insurer
Simply let them know you were in an accident and are waiting for the police. Notifying them is in your best interest, because if you wait, it does tend to show you are at fault.
When you call right away to inform them of the accident, you might also feel as if a small burden has been lifted. Simply tell them you will give your statement after speaking to the police.
